The Models of Supporting Climate Action by
Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples
About the Resource
Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities remain resolute in contributing to environmental protection in small but effective ways by practicing their local knowledge. They possess a deep understanding and have cultural resources to support the environment and to adapt to the effects of the climate crisis. How can we support their invaluable efforts to restore nature on a scale large enough to make a difference? How can Cultural organizations be allies to Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities around the world as they speak their truth, taking formidable stands to confront our climate emergency?
There are many cultural organizations pursuing to tackle the problem of climate change. However, “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” If cultural organizations in all parts of the world work together, coherently and synergistically, towards the common goal of combating climate change, our efforts may be strong enough to change the direction of the destruction from climate change.
“The Models of Supporting Climate Action by Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples” are resources that anyone can use.
