Communicating the Role of Cultural Heritage in Climate Action

Communicating the cultural dimensions of climate change, particularly to policymakers and policy advisors, is foundational to realising the potential of culture and heritage to help drive climate action.  For Culture x Climate Week 3, our weekly Climate Heritage Mobilisation webinar series focuses on the challening and critical activity of climate communications for arts, culture and heritage agencies, institutions and advocates.

This webinar has been prepared by the members of CHN’s Working Group 1. CHN WG1 helps Climate Heritage Network members find the language to connect the power of arts, culture, and heritage to drive positive climate action. All CHN members are invited to join one or more working groups.

Webinar panelists will present their experience and perspectives on the intersection of climate policy and cultural heritage. They’ll examine how to help culture heritage workers and policy makers communicate in ways that advance shared goals. Speakers include:

Climate Heritage Mobilisation Webinars are being offered every Friday during Culture x Climate 2020 (16 October through 27 November) from 15-16h (UK Time). The CHN was founded to increase the ambition and capacity of the arts, culture and heritage sectors to help tackle the climate emergency. It is currently pursing that aim through eight separate activities that make up its Madrid-to-Glasgow Arts, Culture and Heritage Climate Action Plan. Each webinar examines a different one of those activities.

The Climate Heritage Mobilisation webinar series is being held in conjunction with Historic England’s Climate Friday programme.
